Dial Up and proud!
I know many people brag about their bba's and I really want one but, He, I'm broke! and I'm happy with my dial up! I get good speeds and PSO runs perfectly! Plus It feels special because I get to see now dialing and the "Welcome to the world of PSO" stuff. It makes me feel like I've gone back in time to the time when people were still dialing in with their Dreamcasts. As I'm trying to say, It feels more authentic to what most people were using back then.

Re: Dial Up and proud!
Make sure you bring Ver.1 online so you can see the true "Welcome to the world of Phantasy Star Online" message instead of the grossly inferior "Welcome to the world of PSO" message in PSOv2.

Re: Dial Up and proud!
I was thinking about getting Ver 1. I found a new copy for cheap. Why is the dreamcast version so dirt cheap? Even though I have ver. 2 I think it would be better to have both don't you think so?

Re: Dial Up and proud!
The only advantages to Ver.1 are faster loading, slightly better graphics, and a longer list of bugs that can be briefly amusing to exploit. It has no significant benefits over Ver.2. It's cheap because it's common and undesirable.

Re: Dial Up and proud!
Hey glad to hear you made it online! Quick question, I have a few buddies that are trying to get on with Dial up method, can you please explain how you exactly got it to work or if you know of a good setup guide so I can forward this to my friends?NiGHTS&Sonic wrote:I know many people brag about their bba's and I really want one but, He, I'm broke! and I'm happy with my dial up! Re: Dial Up and proud!
I'd second that. It is my understanding that most current dial up isp's do not work with sega dreamcast. What ISP is working well? Thanks, and cheers!Babylon wrote:Hey glad to hear you made it online! Re: Dial Up and proud!
To be honest.... I use free ISP's this is my current one (209)5911010. I followed a guide on youtube just type it in. I guess it's good phone service? I do have some days where it chugs or disconnects so I get used to it, it helps to be a patient and determined person like I am (I even like the dial up sound! I don't get annoyed lol) Just be prepared for some lag when ALOT of enemies are on screen or for random disconnects. but on a good day, I play online for over 2 hours and no problems. You can do it!
