It's not like there weren't any games like Metal Slug before Metal Slug...so what is a ripoff in the end...

Have you ever played Ghouls n Ghosts next to Risky Woods? Neither is a bad game

Dude, it's the same as Metal Slug in every aspect up to the 'aw' sound the enemies make, the bombs you throw, the theme, the nazi's coming down on parachutes, the way end level bosses throw big bullets at you...

I mean, it would be hard to find something NOT Metal Slug in there...

I know, I'm not a fan of them. But God, they make it easy to bash them...

You're not understanding me. I'm not talking about gameplay. I'm talking about it's look: character/enemy sprites, animations, color schemes, etc. It infringes on a current IP and thus could warrant a lawsuit since they aren't just making it for fun. They will sell this for profit.

Im really turned off by the jump arch, and the slightly pitch shifted Wilhelm scream they are using for death noises. They might be place holders, but the trailer could have waited until those parts were more finalized in my opinion.

I don't mind this being an MVS/AES release, but the price of those carts are outrageous.

Clearly Kraut Buster has taken lots of inspiration form the Metal Slug art-direction and gameplay mechanics, but it's not a carbon copy and they use original art instead of sprite-rips. It will be very hard for the copyright owners of the MS IP to successfully sue NGDEV for this.

(e.g. Commando Steel Disaster also got away with it, got both a DS and DSi Ware release; http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/201 ... er_dsiware

Even Gameloft with their clearly "inspired" by HALO shooter 'NOVA' got trough Microsoft's legal team unscratched.)

New video up.

I posted a comment pretty much begging them to do a Dreamcast port.

A DC-port is not going to happen

Quoted from Facebook:
NG Dev Team Well, DC sales were dropping with each release. Pre orders of NEO XYX DC were terrible. While torrent downloads increased and increased. The development kit is very problematic too. We rather see our port future elsewhere, hopefully something cartridge based.

The DC development kit is very unreliable and buggy.

We just feel that DC is not for us.

Nice. They've tarnished the DC library more than enough.

Still looking forward to what Duranik is doing though... ^^
