I played MvC2 and CvS2 online back in the day. The online functionality was Japan only and dial up only so if you weren't from the region it was laggy to say the least (if you could connect at all). Due to proprietary software used by Capcom don't think it will be possible to get these back online any day soon. Too bad too, cause I love the Capcom fighters.

there were a few capcom fighters made with online capabilities. Its unfortunate how it wasn't properly utilized.

All the "For Matching Service" versions were the online ones. There was a SFZ3 and a SFZ3 For Matching Service. They did the same with a couple of titles on the Dreamcast including Tech Romancer. There were also games that were only For Matching Service versions. To my knowledge Vampire Chronicles was one of those, along with Super Stupendous Street Fighter Awesome 2 Turbo Ultra Max X, that was released specifically as an online version of SF2 which by that time had basically been released on every other system know to man.
Currently sucking at: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Road Rash II and Pirates! Gold

Searching for EGG, SFA3, and ANY GENESIS/CD/32X games.
