Just ran across this looking for something else, so thought I'd step in and share my opinions... Before I do, I'm Dan from the GOAT Store, so I'm a little biased, but...
We never published games that we didn't think we're great. As a matter of fact we turned down a number of games that we didn't think we're very good. At the same time, our goal is to make the games at a fair price, and ensure they are done legally and correctly. We also started publishing games because we were developing a game for a different retro system before we started the GOAT Store and got screwed by the publisher, so we wanted to be a place awesome indie developers could go to for help publishing and distributing games if they wanted. We have invested more in our Dreamcast game releases than we have made to date.
With all of that said, here's a brief overview of what we've done.
Feet of Fury was our first released game. It was created when DDR was growing as a thing, and the neat thing about it is that it is a head to head dancing game. Additionally, you can use the controller, or (my favorite part) the keyboard to play through the songs. It was released at a time official releases were still coming out in Japan, and it sold very, very well there.
Inhabitants and Maqiupai were both released at the same time. Inhabitants is a neat puzzler where you need to connect similar colored tiles in a plus and then click them to eliminate them. It's a cool puzzle game, but it's not as advanced as our other games, thus the cheaper price tag.
Maqiupai is a Shanghai game with a twist, you need to eliminate the tiles against the timer, with limited use of wild cards and stuff like that. As far as I have seen, it is the only "arcade Shanghai" game ever. A surprisingly high amount of people who get it declare it their favorite game we did, and I know of at least a handful that consider it their favorite Dreamcast game.
Cool Herders was next, and it is sort of like a reverse Bomberman game. You have to get the sheep to follow you and keep them away from the other herders. It's fun in single player (and difficult), and it really shines in multi-player. After it was released through us for the Dreamcast, it was picked up to be published on the Nintendo DS by another company, although for various reasons it was never released.
Irides: Master of Blocks was our most recent shipped release. The developer started by seeing a picture of Lumines, and thinking he could do something similar. We discovered that it was quite different than Lumines, and to me at least, the combo and power ups that are in it that I haven't seen in Lumines games makes me have a lot more fun with Irides: MoB than I ever did with Lumines. I'm not focusing on the music though, that's all personal taste.
Jay Townsend's SLaVE will be our next game published. It's purposely limited to under 500 copies. We hope for those who preordered to have some great news very soon, we originally planned on having it shipped by last April but a few stupid bugs held us up and we have nearly completed an engine rewrite to avoid them.
There are potentially at least another five titles we are currently consulting with, and we are happy to talk with other people. We really enjoy the publishing work we have done, and we are happy to say that we remain good friends with every developer we have worked with.
I will warn everyone, we are getting quite low on a number of our releases, and so the 5 pack deal will probably be going away soon, as well as the games that we sell out of. I don't remember offhand the games that we are low on.
If anyone has any questions, I'll do my best to follow this thread and answer what I can. We can't discuss certain things however (we were the first group to do Dreamcast indie game development and essentially laid the legal groundwork for it, although much of that I'm not at liberty to discuss), but I am happy to share what I can.
