Hello,
I am making a Rip on a 99 Min Disc of Shenmue 2.
The Problem is, the game don't work on other LBA's as the Original LBA 45000.
If I make a Release on the LBA's 11700 or 11702 it don't work with any hack.
But I have try it on the Original LBA and it work without any hacking of binfiles.
Okay. That's okay. But I don't know how to apply the two cdda Tracks, that I get the Original LBA Position of 45000.
The cdda Track isn't very important, only the Sound at the Opening, but it's not really important for the Story. It have only a better Opening Effect.
Dreamcast Rip with LBA 45000 Position + cdda Tracks ???

Re: Dreamcast Rip with LBA 45000 Position + cdda Tracks ???
No, The Audio Track will be recorded like a Audio CD.
I could record first the Audio Track and then Start the Data Track to the LBA Position of the Position of 45000. At this Position, I could made a new Data Track, the problem is, that I don't know how to calculate this.
The another idea was to record first the Data Track. Then a new small Data Track. At this Point to add the Audio Tracks and then append the rest of the Data in a new Data Track.
I think it could work, because the Original GDI's have a similar structure, if they have cdda Tracks. The problem is, you need for every Session in a Multisession extra Space. You lose at the first Session around 25 MB.
That's the reason, that you can only get around 675 MB Data into a Selfboot Dreamcast game.
If you made after the first 2 Session another Session, you will lose for every other Sesson aditional 13 MB. I think that make no sense, because if I try this, I have to downsample something or delete the multilanguage Files.
I think it's better to let the cdda Track out, like top downsample something, because the cdda Tracks are not important for the game. They will only used in the Opening Scene.
In addition to this, I have allready burn my Shenmue 2 Release to the Discs^^ and i don't want to waste more 99 Min Discs for the 2 stupid Audio Tracks^^ and I will Uploade them next time.
Yeah you will have all the 4 Discs with all Speech Files (include the Freespeech Files). Familyguy made a Release with downsampled afs files.
Nobody know, how he have it made, to downsample the ahx files inside the afs.
On my Release you will have all Files. Disc 1 + 3 is nothing downsampled or removed. On Disc 2 I have replaced the Freespeech afs File with the downsampled Files File from FamilyGuy. It's impossible to fit this Disc on a 99 Min Disc. So I decide it's better to take a downsampled afs File, like to rip some of the Freespeech Files out, like the other Release Groups.
Disc 4 is only a Vid downsampled. but the Quality is great and you will not note the Quality reduction.

Re: Dreamcast Rip with LBA 45000 Position + cdda Tracks ???
Hey-
Ive made my own rip of SHII, got beat to release by FamilyGuy, and he asked me not to make my rip public since we both were making rips with downsampled ahx files.
It is easy to downsample ahx just like adx, except you use ahxencd instead of adxencd, and it has a qauntize to adjust bitrate / size.
As far as trying to pad the audio files to lba 45000, maybe this will help:
Session1 at LBA 45000 = 79027288 bytes for a .wav file
So, you have to figure out the size in bytes of the 2 tracks and subtract from that:
790272288 - (track01.wav + track02.wav ( in bytes )) = bytes needed to reach lba 45000.
From there, you can either try to make a third track of necessary size of blank audio.
If that wont work (bootiing with 3 cdda tracks) then try this:
copy /b track02.wav + track03.wav newTrack2.wav
where silence is added to end of 2nd audio track to reach lba 45000.
And Vasily has the tools for ahx too...If he knows it or not?
