Wifi with raspberry pi 3b

I had the same problem, and solved it by updating/upgrading the firmware on my Raspberry, as the DreamPi image is pretty outdated, and doesn't even see the wlan interface. After the update everything went pretty smooth, using integrated WiFi on my RasPi 3 with no problems.

Can i do this while dreampi is in the rpi?

You need to do this, while running DreamPi, as some system libs need to be updated/installed as well. The best option is to connect an ethernet cable and access your RasPi via SSH (by putty, for example), and run all update/upgrade operations. Or you can interrupt the DreamPi scripts and do it directly on your RasPi.

We sold the laptop I was using to do all this and burn with also in favor of building a tower. Buy my old laptop should still to the SD card stuff
