@PengoJetz I'm happy to report my GD-ROM drive is working flawlessly after re-capping. Thanks again for all your help! I'm hopeful I'll be able to repair many more DCs be re-capping the disc drives!

But it's a rev0 VA0 GDROM, Yamaha 5volt
Well it's different problem from what I read here now, with it installed the Dreamcast just plays dead, no sign of life unless another good GDROM

I haven't had a ton of experience soldering in my life, only a couple months so far. I'd want to have more experience under my belt before I start re-capping other people's equipment. I'm fine taking the risk on stuff I've purchased at this point, not sure I want the risk of breaking other people's things yet. lol
I'll reach out if/when I feel comfortable doing it for you.
