Well I am using the official NTSC-U GDI and it does the same on the GDEMU. I tested it out the other night and same issue.

hmm. well when you pause the game, the radio timer code still ticks, meaning the radio plays regardless of it being inaudible during pause. that is probably the key to fixing the bug, when you enter a car for the first time in one session, the pause menu code is hooked to perpetuate

but i mean i don't expect anyone to ever do that lol if it did use the katana SDK good fucking luck finding the ASM trees for the radio code hahaha

It's certainly possible if you know how to breakpoint, but most of the people with those skills hack x86, not SH4.

Fuckin lousy man.. 1:30-3:30 as by TEAMCAST's request I sat on the radio to exit+enter again and indeed starts over..

If I pause briefly I even get garbage sound rape too! (@ end)

yeah, this was the first Dreamcast game i ever played, and something about it was so off. WHICH HONESTLY, SUCH A DAMN SHAME GTA2 is like the perfect GTA for the Dreamcast, especially if it had the PC version's online multiplayer! I really wish it wasn't rushed or someone was crazy enough to make a new version because GTA2 deserved better on Dreamcast!

Since headlights where actually configurable in PC version, I tend to think they removed them from DC version deliberately to save performance.

I'd say it's similar with the radio tracks.

However, there are things I find very confusing, like vehicle availability - it seems that all areas have all cars, whereas in PC version there were some differences in what cars were on the roads in each area.

In short, I tried to play on DC and it's so far from the game I remember from PC that I'm probably just going to play it on the PC.
