What's a boost game should I may ask..?

A boost game is a sonic game in which you press a button and sonic immediately starts going faster than the speed of sound. Most would say the levels in these games are boring because you basically just have to boost and enemies are destroyed. However, in my opinion, this only started to come into effect when sonic forces came out. This is due to the fact that the levels got so linear it's ridiculous, they were very short and they had more 2d than 3d and so on and so forth. Oh btw, I forgot to mention that the stage switches from 2D to 3D randomly in this gameplay style.

Also, there was no challenge in sonic forces. Look up gameplay and you will see what I'm talking about. In sonic unleashed and generations, however, if all you did was boost and homing attack you would not get very far because the level would punish you for not using it correctly.
