Maybe a proof of concept could be done. With a much smaller world. Kind on like the minecraft concept.

For me the problem is DVD, you have all areas in 1disc on PS2
And the 32Mb.
It's probably what Jamie talked about.
For Dreamcast the game must be optimise for Dreamcast 8Mb vram and gdrom. Probably a four discs.
When i thought about Shenmue 2 msr, crazy taxy 2, and even headhunter, i don't see what gta3 does that those games don't.
Rockstar had released the sources.
Si who knows ?

It won't be a waste of time trying to figure it out ,
I would be playing it soon as it's downloadable. Their is a fanbase for it.
Perhaps make it just a Game format that requires using that GDU Usb stick instead of it being CDI ?

Re: Is it possible to port GTA 3 to the Dreamcast?
Fact of the matter we can have a 2gb gdrom image now to stream data so forget the media size as a problem game on pc is not that big..
Developers would say that anyways the dreamcast was about to be canned..
I dont see any problem why it could not be done dreamcast has more vram then the ps2 ..
You not going to just port it write it more like it when i see a port of this to the ps2 we will talk..
This is the pc version which would not run on a ps2 with a port ether have to do a whole lot of work to get this to run half way on a ps2 in it's current form
Yes it could be done dont see why thats big of shock ether.. can i do it no..

That DREAMSHELL Device I mean't , Wouldn't a port of this require a lot of CDRs to burn the CDI? , So do it in the format that that the DREAMSHELL Runs.Anthony817 wrote:Say what lol?AgentMomo wrote:Perhaps make it just a Game format that requires using that GDU Usb stick instead of it being CDI ?
