Bob Dobbs wrote:My #1 tip is saving a back up. If you have two VMUs, copy your main save every so often. I use 4 VMU's, so I overwrite over the oldest one. The Dreamcast program software I use to do this is called Dream Explorer. It is a free homebrew utility that has a file manager that allows you to copy your save on to another VMU. Sega did NOT allow you to copy your save file unlike the other games. So, there are other save methods but this is my preferred method. Please note I use 100% real Dreamcast hardware, not an emulator or a modified console.

REASON:
The most frustrating thing in playing PSO is how easy and unexpected it is for your save to corrupt. Most players can go years, others might be online when something happens to the server at an inopportune moment. A power loss can also kill your save. I also do not trust the online server save because if the server dies, you have to hope that once it returns, it saved your character. To be clear, the server never automatically saves your character, it is a command you have to type once you are connected.
Dream explorer you say, ok interesting^^ honestly thanks for the heads up cause the last thing I want is a corrupted save. So far I have two vmus and both are about half full.

you'll find a lot of weapons smashing the boxes around the levels, and expecially at the beginning they are quite similar, so taking with you a couple of them could be better, until your character will be a little more stronger

in reality, i always do this lol
