Finished locating xbox prototype english text and made a quick data extractor script:

So we now have a whooping number of 243798 sentences!
Next step will be to analyze and dump every short char of those 243798, to create a dictionary for ASCII conversion.

If you can build a tool easy to use and spare the sentences pack by pack.
You should find some help here, for translating 243798 sentences, you need the whole community.

Just finished the script to automate xbox Rent-A-Hero.No1 binary data to ASCII.
Text is now readable by any text editor of your choice!

This step is critical for translation as it will help to locate text data between games.

Special thanks to deluxx_ for testing my long-running script :D

Last update for today, select screen text is stored in 1ST_READ.bin , pointers may need adjustment but it does use the same font format as in .SNR

Left-side menu entries are not using PVR but .nj (3D files), which in our case is good. I'll have to jump on ghidra to limit menu entries by 2 tabs.

Japanese font of first chapter has been coded in the script so we now have jap text properly extracted in ASCII!

.Nj is also used on the xbox 360 prototype version so it's just a matter of replacing nj+njm files in name entry menu and rebuild the disc.

Fantastic work so far! So happy to see this progressing. I'm over here hacking away at "Sakura Wars: Columns 2". 2021 will be a good year for the Dreamcast!

I was curious about you using Ghidra for disassembly here. With only the beta debugger in an unofficial build of NullDC, how difficult do you think it'll be to find what's needed in order to reduce the menu entries like you're talking about?
