was using discs till last year, then my drive started to fail. As much as I love discs, the GDEmu is a blessing, not only because is more convenient, but mainly for giving a new life for Dreamcast with dead GD-ROM drives as they are specially hard to replace. I'm hoping that some cheap ODE become as available as the clone GDEmu for the Saturn, my unit is still good but worries me that it may start to fail soon

I was a stubborn CD/GD user until I could muster up for a clone GDemu, and it was three months of gaming bliss.
Then I accidentally killed two Dreamcasts with it. Watch out with those clones! I opted to pack up my Dreamcast collection, but I have purchased the real deal GDemu from Deunan. It was a hell of a cost,.but I cannot wait to get back into that convenient life.

I use all 3 every release i do i make sure to burn and that play on non modded console.. so i burn about 100 cdrs a month

Using GDIs, one of the few consoles I still collect physical games for. However I am currently setting up a GDEMU as we speak.

Interesting, seems the userbase is almost splitted 50/50, gdrom vs gdemu.
I think there are a bit more Dreamshell/Retrodream users around...

I'm positive there are more dreamshell/retrodream users. There are thousands of dc users. This site has like 8000+ members. How many login every month? We seem to be in a slow period right now.

I moded my dreamcast by myself.Although It cost more than 1 days to cut plastic case and lower metal plate and solder nearly 30pin of wire to solder joint of mainboard. I tested my G1-ATA moded dreamcast and it successfully run all of game I want to play excepting for First kiss story2.(below youtube video clip shows gameplay of my hdd mod dreamcast)
I'm still looking for the way to run First kiss story2 on dreamshell or retrodream..
