I will. I'm planning on calling him this weekend and telling him to get everything ready for our court date. The only thing that sucks is we are going to have to wake up around 6:00AM get ready and take the 7:30am train in to be there by 8 and then take a dam cab over to the court house to be their by 9.

Hey guys,

Took a day off of work yesterday to go to court. Before I was called before the judge I spoke to the Public Defender and he said that the dumb ass cops wrote the tickets all wrong. They didn't use proper language and had no base to give me or my friend (who was with me at the time) the tickets. It seems like they were just being jerks and wanted to dish out frivilous charges to make their monthly ticket quotas. The public defender told me that the judge would dismiss it immediately or I would have to take a 20 minute class upstairs on "decision making".

So, I waited almost 40 minutes watching people get called up for Public Urination and other charges. Then all of a sudden my name was called. I walked up to the judge, said Hello, and the judge then took a 5 second glance at the ticket and said ......"Case dismissed" ....

I thanked the lawyer and got my ass out of there.

I'm very pleased that I didn't have to pay a fine and it didn't go on my record. My friends charge got dismissed as well. I really hope they would have warned the cops for giving out ridiculous tickets but whatever. Eitherway, I'm done with it and I just wanted to thank all the kind people here on the DC-Talk forums for the kind words of encouragment leading up to the court date.

I had a good feeling about this going your way as I stated in my previous post. I just diddn't think it would be that simple. The lawyer was the trick, if you went in cold, you would not have had the same one-on-one with the judge. Way to go, Coolinator!

I'm happy we had the public defender. I guess all that tax money we pay finally worked in our favor.

Ya, I couldn't believe it was over so soon. I guess Justice still exists in the world.
