Damn, thats the key to it.. I suppose you dont remember if the modem was usb or internal? And the actual VM engine? Because wmware workstation has a pretty good management system for periphericals.

Yea yea i know, but like i said i dont even own a dial up modem. Well if i can grab one for cheap id give it a go.. I was asking because if someone could have proven me that it was IMPOSSIBLE, i wouldnt even think about trying it.

You can get a serial modem for 30 bucks on new egg. I read the comments and they all talk about how the linux support is really good and on this site the guy who made the linux pc-dc server said he used that modem.
