Great to hear that there were many resposes. I got this idea from a couple of sources. First, back in the early eighties Activision used to give out patches you can sew on your jacket when you achieved a high score in one of the games. You would have to submit a photo of the TV screen and mail it in to Activision. Some of the patches could be seen here:

Also, there is an actual organization called TwinGalaxies which keeps world records of scores for many video game platforms (from arcade to home systems). Again, you would either submit a photo or video once you achieved a world record. The site would be listed here (use the dropdown to get to the Dreamcast section):

I have been to the Funspot arcade in New Hampshire. It's only two hours away from me. It's multiple floors of classic arcade bliss! The arcade is actually a museum for arcade games. Many world championships are held there.

Cryinglion, I think you have a great idea here. I'm up for having something like this and it seems everyone else is interested too.

A monthly contest would be appropriate. I have an idea for a certificate I could make or something better, like custom ranks at the forums, etc. T-shirt prizes would be the ultimate. That's down the road .

We should start this for the month of October, now to decide on a game. It 'll have to be something everyone has. Q3, startlancer, max pool, 4x4 evo and sega swirl are great options. I'm sure everyone at least has sega swirl, right? My pick for a game to start with would be Sonic adventure. We could do stage time trials.

Anyone else have game ideas? Post to let us know what games you have.
