A Newbie in trubble, please help.

look for DCRES VERSIONS i don't trust cool-rom and don't fully trust dc-iso zone yet. i think they need to have there own dcres verision there to be honest

Why not use alcohol 120%
and why burn slowly, i always burn at max speed and i never got problems.

From what i heard always burn lowest speed because somthing about data being written. as for diskjuggler. i never had a problem with it so thats what i use. ive had problems with alchohol so thats meh case

Holy crap it worked 0_0 thats the first CD i burned to work. I used default settings and used a CDI from dcisozone. Huh...guess it was cool rom. Well i got one more question, will this allways work? is there files that i may have to change something? and what if im getting something that isnt CDI like a NRG?

the main reason not to use alcohol 120% is because it cost money after a short amount of time and DJ does not. though im sure you could probably find a hacked version or something?


i kind of agree about the speed thing though. i used alcohol 120% at 16x and had no issues with it. it has always been recommended to burn at lower speeds, but idk if it matters at all? the thing about DJ is, it always burns at the lowest speed possible anyway. unless you pay for the full version.

NRG is for nero, so i would just avoid those. Nero is good but you will have to pay for it same as alcohol 120%. sometimes you might need to overburn a game with DJ. this is only on games that are to big. if it is under 700MB your in the clear. sometimes your still in the clear even if the file is to big. watch out for 99 minutes CD-r releases too. unless you are intending on burning the game with a 99 minute CD-r



i would stick to images from here. if something goes wrong the people who made the image can easily assist you . after you get the hang of it all you can play with the other rom sites if you like.

I use discjuggler demo which forces you to burn at slowest speed which is supposed to be 4x but my burner only goes as low as 8x. and they work fine.

Well i will use this method for a while...the only regret is that downloading takes long at dcisozone cus i need to upgrade my account before i can download faster, though i probably will. Thanks for the help everyone ^^

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR GAMES EITHER HERE OR AT SNESORAMA.US dciso zone gives you no details on the game your downloading wether it is echelion or dcres etc.. at least at this site and at SOR they tell you. DCISO zone needs a lot of work. Luckly one of our members here are a mod there but thats to much for only 1 person to take.
if you go there the game may not work. they need to have better rules there and that's final

i second this. trust me i am not just telling you to stick to the files here because i am a member here. here you wont need to worry about speeds. the images are uploaded to faster download sites. the people here have taken the time to put together better quality roms. tux and others have done some great work in the download section here. i also would like to recommend that you try to buy real games. some speculate that using burned games will eat away at your lasers life much faster. this goes double for using sloppy roms like the echelon ones.

well you do argue a good point when it comes to that, ok ill try here and that site u recommended. Trust me when i say i WISH i could fine real copies, but i cant find people who sell them at a good cost. I hope my stay here will be pleasant ^^ I got a lot to learn about the DC though <.<

Edit: After going to SNESORAMA.US i think ill stay here.
