Was Halo actually planned to be on the Dreamcast?

It was planned first for Mac, then DC, then PC, then Xbox. Someone posted a picture from a magazine showing an early Master Chief on DC. I have no idea where it is, but maybe some of the vets here can remember it and post it for you to see... Oh, lucky you, I found it!



Many games were planned to come out on the DC, GTA 3, Max Pane, Fable, Black and White, System Shock 2 and many, many others. It is unfortunate that these major hits didn't see the light of day on Dreamcast, but I can still enjoy Half Life, which I think is a FAR better FPS than Halo is, and even if Halo came to DC, it would have been an RTS, because Bungie planned it that way at first.

You should check out this awesome site called Unseen64, which has a list of almost every planned game that was cancled for every system.

read the first few words in that article, rumor had it that it was to be a TPS not a RTS. we all know it ended up being a first person shooter and not a third person shooter or a real time strategy game. but the rumors of a TPS are far closer than a RTS. where did you hear that it was gonna be an RTS game?

Here it is, before it was FPS. I don't know I thought it was an RTS from the first 5 mins of that video, maybe I got confused by them moving around with the tools and the low resolution Thats why I thought it was RTS. I thought Halo Wars was some homage to it as an RTS.

Kind of looks like a cross from a rts and tps. Idk what I would call that but it looks kind of cool

I would like to see Heroes of Might and Magic 3. It is one of my favourite games on PC and I think that Dreamcast version could kick our asses... Of course if there were map editor and online function.

I heard that someone in United Kingdom has BETA version of this title on GD-ROM. Maybe we'll see this on DC in next few years?

If you want to see videos of Halo before it was an FPS, and the reasons it became an FPS, the Halo 2 Collectors DVD has it all, I could "back it up for people that own sealed copies....."

is this on the special halo 2 game disc? like i own the silver tin cased version of halo 2. should it have had a dvd with it? i got it used.

EDIT: I read it wrong.

It should have came with two Discs, a special manual, a special booklet, an Xbox live booklet, and an Xbox Live Trial Card all in a Tin case with a plastic cover shell such as the one on the Gears of War Collectors Edition case.
