Thanks Anthony to contact with Marcus, let's see where is the problem

And what another guy said.clone2727 wrote:The game doesn't really require anymore code to work on the Dreamcast. No idea whether it can handle the game or not.Anthony817 wrote:Old thread I know, but I was going to ask something. Do you think Myst and Riven could be ported to the Dreamcast version of ScummVM when you are done with everything, and do you think the DC can handle it?
Looks like it should port quite nicely then.jvprat wrote:Well, IIRC the Mohawk games (or at least one of them?) use non-standard screen resolutions, so it may require some work by the Dreamcast porter to add support for arbitrary resolutions if it isn't supported yet.
He seems to think that the multi disc nature of the game will present problems on a Dreamcast port of Myst or Riven. Does anybody here with knowledge of making bootable games want to give this a try and see how playable it is on Dreamcast? Honestly, every time I have tried to make a disc, it fails. I am more of a ready to burn CDI type of man.Hi. I glanced over the DC-Talk forums recently, and noticed this question:
My suggestion is to create a boot-disc out of the plain files, and then attempt a disc swap.I asked Clone2727 if it was possible if we could get a current version to test, and he gave me this nightly build.

Anyone know what I need to do with this to test Myst with this on DC?
If the game is multi-disc, you may or may not be able to copy the needed datafiles "only" onto a separate disc, and then swap for that.
Check the wiki here to see what the required files are:
- http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Dataf ... el_to_Myst
In all reality the nature of the game (it is multi-disc) may prevent it from being playable on the DC. Multi (original) disc swapping is not implemented (as you could find out by searching the ScummVM Dreamcast forum for "The Feeble Files").
You should probably test it with the Windows Demo first, as it is probably smaller.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
- A ScummVM Fan
Poof again!
bgK has finished coding the Selenitic age for Myst! Feast upon the glory that is the best looking (IMO) and also the hardest (by far). I cannot be paid to solve the maze runner puzzle with all the bleeps, sweeps, and creeps (Yes, I just went there) so I don't blame you if you cheat on the maze runner. If anyone wants to try, they'll need to use the debug console and run "changeStack Selenitic 1282".
Screenshot time!
