Sony has better hardware indeed, and a good costumer and guarantee service.
Heck, their online security is the best in the world. PSN works flawlessly...

I recently had a discussion in another forum about Peter Moore and the lifespan of the Dreamcast. Here is a quite from the discussion:

I do understand that it was pressure from Japan that influenced Peter Moore's decision but the way he handled it was terrible.

He killed the Dreamcast by making the announcement to the world too soon. When the announcment was made a lot of companies would have decided to stop developing games for the Dreamcast. Why not just stop making the hardware and keep the decision within the company until the existing stock had all been sold? Sega could have been transitioning into a multi-platform company and still support exisiting Dreamcast users.

Anyway thats all history now, the Dreamcast will always be a great system. My Dreamcast sits on top of a PS2 that hardly even gets played while the Dreamcast still gets played a lot.

I found a blurb in an old GamePro (issue 149) in which Charles Bellfield (vice president of corporate and marketing communications) mentions "the development of the Dreamcast as a multiplatform device."

Well, well, well. Microsoft scooped up all the Sega guys. And look at what the Xbox was: A sexy little cpu that could very well have served as a multiplatform device, capable of running any game for any system.

The irony of Microsoft's flirtation with the Dreamcast community has always tickled me.
I mean, the XBox's arrival played a not insignificant part in the Dreamcast's demise.

"Powered By Windows CE" What does that tell you? M$ had a hand in Dreamcast from the beginning.

The Xbox is Dreamcast 1.5, 360 is Dreamcast 2, no doubts about that brother.

None of the systems have even a tenth of the charm that the dreamcast has, hence, none of them is the "dreamcast 1.5" or whatever.
Though every console in the current generation was definitely influenced by the dreamcast in one way or another (internet connectivity, downloadable content, screen on the controller, motion controls, controller design, etc.)
