yeah but would you really want to do that? I for one find it more rewarding to just find special weapons based on my section id and the random drop factor, I've already played 30 hours with my current Hucast and I'm absolutely loving the legit play, anyway that's just me I guess it wouldn't hurt if it were optional, it would also mean there'd be less reason for people to create weps with xploder codes

There are already mods and quests for that purpose, still that doesn't stop ppl from creating items.

Altimira has a few and there is one in the downloadable quests.
Still cheating the items right away is faster then to play quests, but some ppl enjoy "semi lame" ways of getting the items so they can say "i have a red ring and i'm legit"

lol well I'm quite happy going fully legit, I've always gotten to about lvl 100 before and then caved in and made my weapons with my xploder but NOT THIS TIME!! I'm going to try and get 200 without any form of cheating other than trading items with my mates, thats it lol

Re: Has anyone tried this trick with PSO ver 2 before?
I never said I was planning on implementing higher rates for rares or anything else like that. I'm just saying it would be possible if the server were to handle all drops (which, like I said, is a major pain in the ass).DCUltrapro wrote:yeah but would you really want to do that? Just trying to understand what you're getting at here? Are you saying that playing any quests that weren't made by Sega that give anything other than token amounts of meseta makes you somehow only "semi-legit"? I wholeheartedly disagree with this position, as even some of the Sega quests have the possibility to give you interesting items and such (granted, not nearly as much on the DC versions as later versions). If that's your opinion that's fine, but I'd rather you didn't try to shame people into feeling that they're not legit because they play some of these new quests that Aleron Ives works quite hard on (as that's what it appears to me that your post is trying to say). He's one of the few people out there that still is interested in making quests for versions of the game other than Blue Burst, and I find that to be a valuable part of the Sylverant community at large. After all, playing the same 17 or 18 quests over and over again gets rather repetitive (yes, that's really about all the year-round official v2/pc quests that there are).K_I_R_E_E_K wrote:Altimira has a few and there is one in the downloadable quests.

Re: Has anyone tried this trick with PSO ver 2 before?
Many of his quests are designed to release items, everything else is design, a cover up. (possibly all quests)
You may not know, but a long time ago he didn't want ppl to make quests, because he knew ppl would make very simple quests with high rewards.
Eventually he did exactly that, trows a few more enemies and it's done, the quests can make you gain an item that could take you ages in normal gameplay (in the case of unobtainables then you wouldn't even get it)
No matter how many hours you play using official quests and gameplay, you will not be blocked in legit games, his quests change things completely and that is why altimira has a different legit checker otherwise pso palace players would be unable to use the command.
I said semi-legit so that ppl wouldn't become buthurt, because the real meaning is actually illegit, but since ppl complain about that alot i decided to use that term.
I can't please greeks and troyans, this is my view, some like it, some support and speak, some don't like it and some become buthurt and complain.
In the end the name doesn't matter, such items (hacked or quest obtained) are not alowed into legit games on vega, some ppl do enjoy this and that's the reason why they do not go to altimira.
I wave watched for a long time, all kinds of definitions to legit gameplay, if i were to hear them all, even my test char at lvl 200 would be legit, in fact, i could use ives ideas and still do the same i guess.
I say this because i usually take the idea and then i change the context to see if it is still valid or not.
I'll give you an example.
Ives has a red ring because he can kill dark falz, if the drop was activated it made no sense in hunting the item, the boss is easy and instead of killing the boss 2000 times, he simply made the item, saves time.
Now let's use that mentality on my lvl 200 test char, if i can kill a normal mothvert 1 time, then i can do the same 96 million times, but i'm not in the mood to waste time, so i raised the level directly to lvl 200.
Same idea, different context.
Fact is, obtaining his items will flag you as illegit on vega and iselia, if you think his hard work should not be blocked, then simply apply his legit xml checker to iselia.
I have the idea of making a quest, but, it's not a exp quest and it doesn't release any items, those are basicly the reasons of why ppl wouldn't play the quest.
Still, i am planing of making it, i just need a moment of inspiration.
Believe me bluecrab, i have miles and miles of this, possibly way to much, still ppl must know that certain quests afect directly the gameplay.
I'm not forcing ppl to play one way, there are several ships exactly because of that, i am trying to please as many ppl as i can by saying all kinds of gameplay are alowed as long they know were they are alowed.

@Kireek
Do you think PSO palace let people make those quests in fear of the PSO DC/PC community dying out?

Re: Has anyone tried this trick with PSO ver 2 before?
Can you repeat the question another way?
I think the subject is "they make such quests because the community is disapearing"
Probably, still, me, and many other pso players (wich are not interested in absurd exp or items) will play the game as always.
The quests draw some attention for a short time until all items are obtained, after that it becomes as fun as all the other quests.
I understand perfectly why ppl do the quests or why they play them, but remember that not every player wants the same.

TBH i would rather just cheat then do it that way. I don't really care about rares that much cuz u can do just fine without them.
