Was ment to ask before - my old save of PSO v2 was me as a hunter at level 43 ish. That was from the SCHTSERV copy of the game, will I be able to use this character with all his items and level etc on the Dreamcast-Talk auto connect version of the game (I really hope so )

Yes, both disks are pal and so is your char, the only thing that changes is the server that it connects to, every else is the same.

Well after about 2 an a half hours trying to get online again I have given up for tonight (in uk it's now 1.06am!)

Basically I tried using an NTSC copy of pso v2 to get set up online - since my old saved settings don't seem to work?) and when I clicked on the website option at bottom of main menu it loads for a second then says it can't find an ISP ?? I've made sure the Internet lead etc is plugged in ok but says that everytime! I tried acouple of times setting it up with an old downloaded copy of planetweb 3 but that didn't seem to work either ( same kind of thing and every now an then a msg popped up saying 'your copy of planetweb is damaged' ?

Really mythed as to why it all seems so hard - last time I did all this with my last BBA acouple of years ago it seemed easy!

I wasn't sure if it had anything to do with the fact I'm on a different Dreamcast console as I read somewhere the internal memory saves lots of important info).


Also - gutted to have found my old pso character save file dosent seem to work either! The game can't read it - it simply says 'reload' everytime I try to load it

I believe there's a bit of a bug in PSOv2US that requires that even if you're using the BBA to connect, you must have at least part of the dialup settings also filled in. Try using something like Planetweb to set up the dialup stuff, then try again with the Website option on PSOv2US.

Right. After literally hours an hours of trying to get pso v2 working online it still won't happen! I managed to get the planet web disc to surf the net but that seems abit iffy! I think I selected DHCP under settings and it works!

As for pso - whenever I try get online with either the dctalk disc or the old schtserv disk that I originally used a few years ago it just says ISP could not be found and that ppope settings not supported! When I use pso v2 nstc and select website it comes up saying broadband adaptor is not set up!!

Really getting frustrated with it all now! If I can't get it online in next few days I'll probably end up selling the bba on eBay! I never had this much trouble before!

Also the xpd browser disc I downloaded dosent work!! It starts up then keeps restarting itself!!

PSOv2 NTSC/U: website option will work to configure the IP address to connect to dr.dns as long as you have configured pso with xdp browser

Being 100% honest I've kinda lost myself! I'm going to give it another shot tonight with a clear head!

One major problem though is that the xpd browser I downloaded from the link doesn't work for me - it loads ip and gets to the second start screen (White screen that you see after the Dreamcast swirl) then after that it resets itself and reads the disc from the start (just goes back to dc swirl screen)??

Why would it do that??

Also I think the old planetweb disc I was trying to use is not the right one either! I need to get that xpd disc working!

You only need the xpd browser to set your dreamcasts internally to work with broadband. You do need that, or the pso connection will still be trying with modem settings iirc.

I don't see why your needing to use the US region disc, as the Pal one should do just fine with your game save? Is it just not loading your characters?

neither the pal or ntsc can load my old character - the option to continue lights up with the vmu in but when i press a to load it, nothing happens. It just pops up saying 'reload'

Almost like my save is corrupted or something?!

I am using the NTSC copy as thats how I was told to get online with the schtserv disc before. I was told to set up the custom planetweb 3.0 disc that came with my old bba (that I foolishly sold with my old BBA) then set the internet settings on the NTSC copy of the game (due to the fact the bba was never released in Europe) then with the settings done on NTSC - play the PAL version and select online and it would work - and back when I had my old BBA it worked first time! I also never had to put a serial code or anything in before - now it prompts me to.
