Give it a break. Shenmue is one of my favorite game series, and don't YOU dare lump me in with the "Anti-Sega hardware" jerkwads. I have no anti-Sega stance. That's why I run a Dreamcast release group, which you wouldn't know anything about since your participation in the Sega scene is flailing about trying to prove Sega is making a console. Which one of us do you think does more to drum up support for Sega? Me and the RDC team, writing about these old Dreamcast games, getting new people to play them and learn to love Sega, or you running around here issuing "warnings" and berating people you have no business berating?MrSega wrote:They're not going to ever let that happen. Trust me on this.Neohound wrote:I suppose Sega could still publish the game even if they don't actually make it........?
And Comradesnarky, Suzuki still works for SEGA. He's not about to sacrifice his job just so a bunch of overzealous self centered "Anti-Sega hardware" jerkwads can get him to waste his life savings on developing a game that he knows will never sell as many copies as Modern Warfare or GTA.
These assholes know damn well that they probably wouldn't by Shenmue III on day one, but some lousy ass COD rehash.
So DON'T you dare take Yu Suzuki for an idiot because he's not.
Yu Suzuki is the R&D Advisor at SEGA & Remains Head Officer in Amusment R&D. Tehicinally, he still works for SEGA.elmagicochrisg wrote:MrSega wrote:And Comradesnarky, Suzuki still works for SEGA.Suzuki officially left his role within Sega in September 2011, to concentrate on his development studio YS NET, but has maintained his ties in an advisory capacity.
An advisor is considered an outside person kept on payroll to be called upon for… well, advice. He's not there on a day-to-day basis.MrSega wrote:Yu Suzuki is the R&D Advisor at SEGA & Remains Head Officer in Amusment R&D. Comradesnarky, there was nothing personal about my post. It had nothing to do with you. It was aimed at non Sega fans at other game sites who want SEGA to make Shenmue III for their console. Knowing damn well, they'd buy COD before they buy this game.
You took my words completely out of context. And are sadly misdirected.
The only remark that was aimed at you is don't think Yu Suzuki is stupid enough to quit his job at SEGA just to waste $100 million on a game, he knows would flop finically.
Suzuki has been at SEGA for over 25 years. He eventually wants to retire from the company & eventually will. Yu Suzuki is content with his Advisory Post at SEGA. He rather train & advise younger designers & Engineers, then think he can channel the creative force he had in the 90s.Hiryosuke wrote:Not trying to belittle suzuki but thats how the business world works...and not being smart when I ask this but...What has Yu Suzuki done exclusively for sega lately? Not social gaming but like real console gaming? Not bein smart I jus wanna know...its an amazing waste of talent if they jus sideline him he should leave if they're notutilizing his creative efforts...he'd be a good fit at capcom...capcom and sega are very similar as far as creativity goes...dragon's dogma is a game I'd expect from the good old sega...not the slop that is sega sammy...sorry I'm jus puttin it out there sega has gone downhill since the merger...
He really hasn't done much recently. I'm not really sure why, he's not that old. A glance at wikipedia shows the only game he's played a role as director in since Shenmue II was Shenmue City. He acted as producer and executive director on some other games.Hiryosuke wrote:Not trying to belittle suzuki but thats how the business world works...and not being smart when I ask this but...What has Yu Suzuki done exclusively for sega lately? He was working on a few games, but Sega canceled them...Comrade Snarky wrote:He really hasn't done much recently. I'm not really sure why, he's not that old.
