Hey all, I can confirm that it is working for now at least on an official VMU . I'll spare you the terrible quality from my phone camera (I still won't give up my old WinMo 6.5) but it is a Performance brand 4x Mega Memory Card. I love the thing as its very useful for organizing saves but I'll have to be more cautious with it in the future. My copy is North American as well. I'm TERRIBLE at racing games so I might have to give up since I'm very stuck on Chapter 2
Oh! Lol! I just got that memory card you speak of to see how it stacks up to other 4X memory cards on the DC. Umm, can some one else answer his question in regards to Dream Explorer! I pretty sure someone else here can do a MUCH better job than I would

I'm sure the card will work fine . I've got 3 out of 4 slots filled with saved data and I've never had a problem before, I'd just steer clear of MSR lol
btw Tips for MSR: Drive like a blue-arsed fly , keep drifting (ie keep Whey Hey ! on screen for as long as possible) as many times as you can each lap as this gives the most Kudos points and, finally, use your Joker wisely - this can make a huge difference to your progress. Don't give up on it just yet - It's a pretty tough game but hopefully you'll get a bit further now.
Yeah, I also have the Performance 4x (Mega) memory card. I was originally using it for PSO but my save got corrupted. Now I only use it for backup and moving stuff around.
^ good advice! I use this very same memory card for this reason alone. I stick with the sega official 4X memory card (although this one is also a pain in regards to compatability) and my Nyko Hyper pak (my most favorite 3rd party Memory card on the system)

The good thing is that nowadays on Ebay the official VMU's are so cheap to buy. I bought twenty of them (brand new and in various colours) before christmas and it only cost me £25. Thirteen years ago I bought maybe two or three for all my games as they were £20 each In those days I'd always be erasing my saves after completing a game, which I really regret doing now. Hard Drives do have their advantages.........
I picked up the US version of MSR and have noticed issues with saving ghosts/time trials. I use a Joytech 4MB memory card and once the game deleted all my MSR files while' undeleting' an old Daytona 2001 save from a decade ago!
To be honest, there's a risk with both the US and PAL versions. If you want to hang on to an individual MSR save, the best advice I can give is to back it up either by putting your DC online and emailing it to yourself or buying an SD card.
PS 60hz PAL saves are compatible with the US version.
