In case anyone is interested in getting some Dreamcast related wallpapers for their PS Vita, I've created a site formatted for the Vita with some wallpapers. I mainly made it for myself but anyone can use it if they like.

Just type in this URL in your PS Vita browser: sites.google.com/site/dcvitawallpapers

It can be viewed on a PC as well but it's easier to just grab the wallpapers using the Vita's browser. There are currently only five wallpapers on the site but I may add more later.

Ok, this may sound like a stupid question to some people, but what exactly is 3G and do I really need it when buying a PS Vita?...

3G is the same technology most smart phones use to access the Internet. On the Vita it will allow you to use various online features on the go including asynchronous multiplayer games, the PS Store (with a 20mb download limit), friends list, text chat, game leaderboards, etc... It will cost you an extra $15 per month (for 250mb of data) to use it in the US through AT&T. Not sure about rates outside the US. There is no contract though so you can just buy it one month at a time if you like. I went with the 3G model just so I would have the option to use it if I wanted. It's up to you if you think it's worth the extra $50.

Well, it really depends on what you use it for and how much you use it. 250MB can go a long way. I signed up for it and so far I've only used it once to play in an online golf tournament in Hot Shots Golf and to check a few things (like the friends list). I just looked at the usage and I've only used 2MB. Most of the things that you are allowed to do over 3G don't use much data. Web browsing and using the PS Store probably use the most data but I don't plan on using either one of those much over 3G.

I'm just thinking compared to what I have in the UK on my HTC Desire HD, I pay £30 a month and get unlimited txts and 500 mins of calls plus 500mb's download limit free

That same plan in the US would cost probably around $60 (£40) so it's not that bad. It is actually the cheapest data plan you can get for any device in the US so I think it's pretty reasonable.

So I guess as long as you don't need internet on the go, it's safe to go with the non-3G model. Right?...
