Left Buggy Heat and Sega Extreme Sports in. Got rid of the other two...

Thanks for the link.

I'll leave them on for now until I make a second list with odds and ends...

Well, if you wanna be anal, then it should be 21 -TwoOne-. Fixed...

I have to choose the Japanese or English title.

Would you prefer me to make the list in Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji?...

In that case I should list Bird Cage Kapitel 1: Keiyaku as グラウエンの鳥籠 Kapitel 1 「契約」...

Also, I think the right question would be: "Why are the Torikago games referred to as Bird Cage?" Since Torikago means Bird Cage...

Which makes me wonder what the Grauen part stands for. One thing's for sure. It's not a native Japanese word since it's written in Katakana. So it could be a person's name. Or the name of a place. There is a place in Germany called Grauen. In that case it would be Grauen's Bird Cage, or Bird Cage of Grauen. Or it could be derived from the German word Grauen, which means dawning or horror amongst other things. And since it's a horror detective story, that last would be most likely. The Horrible Bird Cage. Dawn of the (horrible) Bird Cage. Or something of the like. But that's just speculation on my part...

I'll check the English side of the spines when I get the chance...

I usually make my list based on the english names on the side of the jap boxes; why? coz thats how most sellers offer then > thus it makes it easier to look for on the web.

eg: type in "dreamcast bird cage" on ebay & you'll find nothing. if this list is for your personal use I can understand the small adaptations in the names, however if its to help out the scene, its easier if its the english names on the box coz thats how they are listed & we search for em ;)

not trying to make it harder for you, its just common sense :p

I don't get it. First you ask me why I mention them as Bird Cage and not Grauen, and then You say this:

Well, what's the problem then? That's what I did with the Bird Cage games. Right?...

Ebay is hardly a reference when it comes to such a rare series.

I'm sure if there were more entries we would see both variations...

Well if you're going to that level of granularity, isn't there also a Borderdown LE with the 2 disc case, and a Triggerheart Exelica LE?

What about the different box arts for Last Blade 2 and Garou MOTW? I think maybe one was put out by whatever entity initially assumed SNK's assets from SNK's bankruptcy, and then they were reissued by Playmore?

Example:

Playmore

"SNK"

And what about the re-released "best of" games in Japan? I forget what these were called, but the rereleased games tended to have different artwork and I think orange borders on the CD case.
