Definitely rarer than the panasonic FZ-1, although rumor has it they are about as common as the goldstar within Japan. Mint condition is expensive - personally I'm looking for one loose, as I've seen two go loose for $60-$80 on yahoo auctions. Might use one of those courier/broker services if I can see another one of those going for that kind of price.

I love my 3DO, cool fmv titles and some interesting games that slipped under the radar =)
