Good news! I think.... He sent me a picture of the bottom and it was Manufactured August of 1999 and has a 0 beside where it says NTSC-U so that means it can play the burnt games correct?

Yup. You can jump seamlessly between offline and online with the same character. It's usually a good idea to level up offline before you go online because the monsters are harder online.

So I may do that first until I decide I feel like Ill be able to make the dreampi haha which the main difficulty Seems like it would be the Line Volt Inducer for me

What I did was I went out and bought a NIB copy of Alien Front Online for like $20. That should get you at least stated not only because after buying that that you'll end up needing a standalone copy of Seaman, but Alien Front Online is coming back online soon.

You got yourself a early model. That should work out just fine. The ones you want to watch out for is the ones with revision 2 on the bottom. Revision 0 and 1 only had a minor heat sync modification done to make it cheaper to produce.

Same here man. I actually have all of the equipment to do so. The problem is that not only do I have zero experience with a soldering iron, but all of my equipment dates back to the 1950's to like the mid 1980's. The tools I have are more aimed toward the automotive industry and are not ideal for making a line voltage inducer.

Like I really want to play games online but can bring myself to paying so much for the BBA And if only dialup was as simple as plugging into a phone line and not having to do anything else lol or a more simple alternative.(or cheaper)

Well you really can't have the best of both worlds here. Dreampi is the most approachable choice to make. When I started debating about it, dreampi was only a proof of concept on paper. It's just unfortunate that after 5 months, my method of going online is no longer a viable option. It's a good thing anyways since that was the most approachable method at the time. Netopia is so 2011.

It should be that hard. I believe that you won't screw it up. There isn't a way to set it up wrong if you go by this diagram.

I think Ill end up giving it a shot! first want to find some good rpgs to play haha.
