hahahaha...yeah, in downtown Los Angeles there are cheap electronic stores that still carry PS2's they never got to sell...hahahaha...but the bundled ones have so much dust that when you open the PS2 up, it feels like the year 2000 all over again[talking from experience, about three months ago]
can you imagine the unopened Dreamcast's? what must it feel like opening one ????....again....-_-

Sorry to say that Sony isn't good at making optical drives.
The PC store I work at stopped dealing in Sony brand CD/DVD drives because they were prone to failing. PS2 optical untis are clearly no exception.

reall? I've been through 4 PS2's...the 1st, 2nd, and 4th where bought sealed and the 3rd was bought used...hahaha...
I have been with only 1 DC all me life...is it because I stop playing for a while, then I pop back into it in a cycle?

I had the same problem with my first PS2. I just don't trust them. My original DC though has been getting a very heavy work lately and is unphased by the amount of activity. I don't think I will ever get the chance to use my DC backup I bought a few months prior.

in case my DC craps out, I am definitely going to get another one cause they are so useful...specially when you feel like you played almost every other game you have!
