If all of you swapping CDIs are not using the version that's around 900MB, just know that you are using the version meant to be burned to disc. There's an ODE specific build that is superior.

Guys, please don't post links to pre-built images of the game. The devs are trying hard not to get into legal trouble and we don't want the forum to get taken down either. Dreamcast games are one thing but GTA3 is a game that is actively being sold and posting assets ripped directly from said game is a big no no.

Sounds logical - but any useful hints as to where we could find an assembled copy?

I'm guessing 95% of the people interested in playing it don't have the necessary skills to recompile it.

This was the first game I ever compiled and it wasn’t hard to figure out with the instructions they gave, I think people will figure it out!

If it was easy then I'm guessing we'd be seeing lots of videos posted online with people playing it and raving about how amazing it is.

It's been a couple of days and the only video I've seen recycles the video from previous previews posted a while back. All evidence suggests nobody except possibly a handful of people are actually playing it (and that includes you and the devs)

No feedback, no reviews, nothing - and once the buzz dies down there will be even less people attempting to play it.

Not being negative here - It just seems to be playing out that way, which is a bit of a shame.

If Rockstar wanted this dead - they would have killed it a long time ago. The Dreamcast is a dead system so yes, from an assest pov they might care, but all the legal costs? I don't think so. Not for a port that isn't hitting their bottom line - and never will. They can't claim lost revenue here. Also, if they really wanted to 'lay low' - why did they create a website dedicated to it that not only describes 'how' to do it - but also clearly suggests they coded it. I mean, the papertrail isn't very long for people who are trying to 'cover their tracks'. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Nobody ever expects them to release it, but usually some kind anonymous soul or souls of the DC underground comes along and posts a link somewhere not long after something similar pops up (Castelvania beta, Propeller Arena, etc)

Anyway, I'll check the usual suspects (torrent sites) and see if something turns up.

Most people just don’t want try it or buy a copy of gta3 to compile it with, just sit down for 20 minutes and figure it out and you’ll be able to then make new builds as they come out because you gained the knowledge to do so, and who cares if dreamcast isn’t an active console, Valve killed Portal 64 before it could even finish this year, these companies will kill these projects still

Are you on Discord? There are dozens upon dozens of people who are playing it (at the very least).

I fully understand your perspective, but honestly I think people should just try building it themselves before they assume they can't do it.
