openMenu works in a different way. It uses an DAT file with the images inside.
Check out the oficial openMenu topic and grab the latest version of the dat files.

I've also made a app to add/edit the images inside the DAT file.

SD Card Maker is a closed software and I have no idea how it works internally.
My app uses a 3rd party tool to open the game's images and it have some compatibility problems.
In the end they are just different programs.
For example on sd card maker if it cant properly read a cdi file, it just ignores it's internal data (game's name, serial, number of discs, cover image).
I don't like this so in my app it will not work with those cd files. When I'm aware of a problematic file, I try my best to understand why it won't work and fix.

Re: GDMENU Card Manager
i prefer that not ignore those files instead. can we have a option to force it please? of course with openmenu compatibility)
yesterday to try an homebrew i had to change the program and loosed a lot of time. or instead an easy program that rebuilds a cdi automatically?

Re: GDMENU Card Manager
No. Sorry. This will require a lot of work.
There's other options out there to put games on the sd card.

Re: GDMENU Card Manager
Hello people
i have some interesting problem
i have tried 4 different SD card and all sd card managers.
This is my problem
When i put GDMENU inside my SD card like this:
01 GDMENU image (disc.gdi )
02 Giga Wing ( disc.gdi )
03 Marvel Vs Capcom (disc.gdi )
then i power on the Dreamcast and GDMENU shows perfectly. But when i try to choose any game and press A button, Dreamcast goes back to system menu and it says there is no Disc.
When i remove the GDMENU and my SD card like this:
01 Giga Wing
02 Marvel Vs. Capcom
then i power on the Dreamcast and Giga Wing start perfectly. When i click the Game Swap button on GDEMU the game change and another game starts.
Whatever i tried i couldnt make it work GDMENU.
any idea about it ?

Re: GDMENU Card Manager
Hello,
I've used "GDMENU Card Manager 1.3.3-openMenu" and GDMENUCardManager.v1.3.5 with success (except for the games that won't show covers due to needing a custom serial.
I've tried using GDMENUCardManager_BETA_3_OPENMENU. All of my games are listed, but no covers or metadata are loading for any of them (as if the DAT files are not present). I've verified the DAT files are present in "tools\openMenu\menu_data" folder, so I'm not sure what the issue could be.

Re: GDMENU Card Manager
The serial info appear correct on the manager app?
BTW I'm in the process of updating the app. I plan to have a new version this weekend and it will be posted on github.

Re: GDMENU Card Manager
Yes, if there is a serial added to the serial.txt in the game folder, it shows in the app.
