rapid fire should be an option, not how the game is meant to be played.. And 3 lives and 4 continues. You also get a machine gun everytime you use another continue which is part of the gameplay too.
But the choice to have autofire, max lives and continues would be good too.
All the same, thank you so much for bringing this to the DC.
Remember: Easy Mode uses Heavy Machinegun (Powered H for Fio) as a default weapon. I'm fine with Free Play, but not 15 lives.
With the Blood Code solved, can you show the hex codes to turn Auto Fire OFF.
Requesting (again) a more confortable button layout (inspired mostly by the PSP default):
X: Shoot
A: Jump
B: Bomb
Y: Switch Weapon
R: Special Attack
L: Debug Menu (when Paused)
START: Pause/Unpause
FIND:
22 21 0b d1 30 21 0b d1 0b 41 09 00 0a d2 0b
REPLACE:
32 21 0b d1 30 21 0b d1 0b 41 09 00 0a d2 0b
for the rapid fire mode turned back off..
I think in the end we will have hex patch options to configure to any buttons we want.

megavolt85 wrote:it will only get worse with CDI
even small delays on the SD card cause the game to freeze
the sector size of the CDI image is not a multiple of the size of the SD or HDD sector, which will lead to additional delays
Thats fine. When you fix the ipbin corruption we will test for you in depth how playable it is. Afterall gdrom drive is the normal state of the dreamcast as well as the majority compared to hdd, gdemu and sd.
Who knows give it a chance and it might turn out good.

I created a new CDI but it still doesn't work on real hardware
all new ports can only be played from ODE or HDD

Every one is talking about your works @megavolt85.
I can't count how many reviews and messages there are around the web.
Just a little one here :

And my favorite comment about you called you "the gentlemen"
For cdi, maybe a true gd-rom is faster than a cd and may boot the game but where we can find a gd rom ^^
Else it may depend of cd quality, maybe just release the best .cdi you have, and we could try some things like 99min cdr, using family guy pack with nrg header something like that.
Anyway it's not possible to do better, we are so happy of this release

CDI doesn't work even when run from GDEMU
GD-ROM users can be offended as much as they want, but they should understand that atomiswave launches games from a cartridge whose read speed and access time are much higher than that of the drive

Can this game be burned to a CD-R or does it only work with ODE's? Asking because I collect physical games and I'd like to keep my main Dreamcast console stock. If it doesn't work that way I'll have to get another Dreamcast just to install a GDEMU.

Yes, the gd rom data transfert is less fast than mother board can read.
Cartridges have a very high data transfert, Best format for me.

@megavolt85 Have you thought about putting a dummy file to push the data outwards and thus speed up the reading speed ?
Edit : I'm talking about a .CDI version to be burned on CD
