why 400 ma? need 800 ma
Works fine with 400. I've tested with 4 controllers, 4 VMUs, and 3 jump packs. I know I have a fourth jump pack somewhere but I can't find it. lol Kind of doubt one more jump pack would throw it over the edge though.

All I can say is that 400 works. Better too low than too high.

Nooo! Don't do this! It's there for a reason. By doing this you're risking damage to your controller. The best thing to do is replace it with a
72v 400mA resettable fuse. If it blows, it can be reset by just powering off the Dreamcast for a few seconds.
oh lol, I have this done on my main Dreamcast that I've been using for 10 odd years now

dreamcast i/o board fuse spec sheet pdf:

megavolt85 is right, but what is not being factored in is the 'slow blow' nature of both types of fuses.
the 72v 400mA polyfuse is the goto replacement part, despite being under-current to the original design. it is readily available. i've never heard of an issue in normal use cases.

Just been through this topic and realised I forgot to say THANK YOU to everyone who found, ripped and GDI/CDI'd these titles! This is amazing work by a fantastic and enthusiastic community. ^_^
And a special thank you to the original creators of these titles for both creating them and supporting the community on our research of these titles too
