I loved 1, 2 was good but very Japanese and 3.. I liked well enough. Sad they didn't do anymore = (

so what I was gonna say is this:

The Clock Tower 1 & 2 we got in the US were actually Clock Tower 2 and a side-story respectively. The real Clock Tower 1 never left JPN, but was released on SFC and PS1 -- the PS1 version was a remake called Clock Tower: First Fear. This game was incredible, and very obviously based on Dario Argento's Phenomenon/Creepers. Since it's pretty point-n-click, you can play it and enjoy it very much with out knowing Japanese.

Also, the PS2 game Haunting Ground was (rumored) to have started life as Clock Tower 4, and if you enjoyed 3 you should check that out as well.
