I'm trying to apply the xdelta patch to the 8f9b07766493a862bf57f7ed4f8b4475 track03.bin file, but I get the following error from xdelta:

Image

xdelta3: not a VCDIFF input: XD3_INVALID_INPUT

I'm using:

xdelta-3.1.0-x86_64.exe -d -s track03.bin KoF99Evo_US_NTSC_VGA_TOSEC_Track3.xdelta track03_.bin

What am I doing wrong? :?:

It looks like I used xdelta, and not xdelta3. Here it is again, with xdelta3 this time:

First of all, excellent work!

However, I'm confused as to why you encountered an error trying to build a .DCP patch. I just tested it myself using the vanilla TOSEC US GDI as source, and the new GDI with xdelta applied as the "modified GDI", and was able to produce a patch file without issue.

What version are you using? I released 1.6 yesterday, though that wouldn't affect what you're experiencing.

Can you verify the filenames and MD5 checksums of the helper utilities inside of the "tools" folder?

Can someone build a .CDI image of Bangai-O (with VGA patch) for testing purposes? Was hoping to test out the game on my Dreamcast with the VGA cable setup!

Unfortunately kof evolution looks very washed out in vga via dchdmi.

When running the original through dchdmi (cable select) it looks clearer.

Interesting, my experience is quite different. If anything, they look nearly identical, as DCDigital is taking the 240p input in "cable select" mode and scaling it up per your resolution settings. Meanwhile, the VGA patch (I believe) is just line-doubling 240p to 480p, after which DCDigital would scale that up per your resolution settings.

Even if I'm wrong about the line-doubling, it doesn't make much sense that you're seeing such a discrepancy. I'd be curious to hear if anyone else has the same experience as you.
