Jeez really? Aren't you guys the number 1 unofficial source for anything Sega? Hucast shouldn't of screwed you guys over like that.Barry the Nomad wrote:I should also note that to my knowledge, no current writers for SEGAbits have ever received review copies of any Dreamcast games and none of us have a personal stake in any of the games. Not saying they stiffed us on reviews, its just that we typically don't seek them out because we like to be treated the same as everybody else so we can experience what the average customer experiences when it comes to indie games. I've seen some other sites (not naming names) buddy up to devs and they end up getting special treatment. Not to say that this is a bad thing, I get that its important to keep the press happy, but they end up not seeing the shit end of the customer service stick like many customers have experienced.
I might be reviewing the game for SEGAbits, though it will likely be late as I'm dealing with the same shipping issues others have experienced...

Screwing someone up and not giving them special treatment are two very different thingsscaryred24 wrote:Jeez really? Aren't you guys the number 1 unofficial source for anything Sega? Re: The Ghost Blade
Thanks for the kind words on my article guys, and for Barry to giving me the opportunity!
As Barry iterated, the article isn't meant to bring down Hucast but what they/Rene does and how they/Rene treats customers cannot go without attention. Many know my personal experiences with Hucast (from the Redux Kickstarter all the way through Ghost Blade), but hopefully the article helps educate those that don't follow the DC scene as much as we do.
As far as Ghost Blade, I don't know if I'll ever pick it up. If I do it'll be cheap via eBay or Play-Asia (where it'll never be cheap though) just because I like to collect all the indie Dreamcast releases. Well, at least one version/edition of each indie Dreamcast release...
And a quick note since someone mentioned Watermelon and them publishing Saber Riders: I'm not necessarily nervous about it since they are just publishing the game versus the extra dev time that went into porting their own game (Pier Solar) to Dreamcast. Personally I did back Saber Riders.

Also... a friend of mine just received the game but, hey...

He doesn't know if it's a mistake or, as I think we were all afraid of already, a new version/revision/update is on its way.
Oh boy.

Re: The Ghost Blade
The mistake is my friend doesn't know if he was supoosed to get this edition.
Ok, so there IS yet another edition already. While backers still have to wait for theirs until november.

Re: The Ghost Blade
Wow. I mean, announced or not we all pretty much could have assumed revisions and/or new editions of Ghost Blade would be incoming, but the speed at which this is coming is ridiculous.
