Re: Dreamcast Live PSO - Saturdays @ 5:00PM Eastern on VEGA
Hi there people!
Just wanted to check-in and see how many people are actually playing PSO on Saturdays (in general)? I would really love to start playing again after almost 20 years. I was thinking of making a built-in dreampi using the raspberry pi zero wifi and the DC power supply powering both the rpi and the 18V line to the EU modem. Since I don't use the 12V rail anymore due to the GDEMU and I was thinking it could be better to give the PSU some load with the dreampi instead of a resistor....
It's a bit of project, question, is it worth the time spent on it? Is the community thriving on Saturdays?
Since I live in Sweden, I hope the latency will be good enough, but then again, we do have fiber cables going directly to the US (if that's where the server is located). So I guess it's better than back in the days.

Hey welkome The_Dorkside.
Yes a Dreampi is absolutely worth it, you'll always find someone to play PSO. Not only on Saturday
And you'll also find Europeans playing at a "reasonable" time !
For your project have a look at this topic: https://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/vi ... =3&t=11937
Hope to see you soon online ! Cheers from France

this is amazing! 19 people! I actually thought it was less, sure it's not like back in the day. But as long as you can form a couple of teams it's definitely people enough. I hope to catch you guys in PSO in the future (and that I won't get connection issues due to the European 18V line).
Thanks MrBlueSky! (I really appreciate the Wonderboy 3 pig as avatar, favourite game and character from my childhood)
I'm going to look into that solution, however, I think my solution will be somewhat simpler since I still intend to connect the internal solution by routing a phone cable to the modem through the ventilation hole in the back.
The reason why I do this is because I don't like modding the original casing of the Dreamcast. (mine looks basically new, no scratches or anything, I treat the machine like an old ferrarri hahahaha).
Thanks MrBlueSky! (I really appreciate the Wonderboy 3 pig as avatar, favourite game and character from my childhood)

Hey folks!
I don't know if PC is going to be about due to his annual travels, but me and a small crew will be about from 4pm EST/9pm GMT for anyone interested.
