I've gone through every .MRG and examined the contained files. Some do not contain textures that needed translation, and thus I don't think will need to be altered. Descriptions of the content can be found on the Google Sheet.

Progress update...about 65% texture complete.

Decided to play around with the 1_SGGG.bin that megavolt85 provided earlier in the thread. Translation starts to feel quite real when you put the text that they translated/adjusted alongside the new textures!

You may be thinking, "381 textures?? Why the jump?" Well, that is because 192 of those were the ending staff credits that I considered "nice to have" or "v1.2." But mr.nobody graciously volunteered and did the translation on those, so all the original staff members are credited in English!

So we're getting very close to actually having all the various UI textures done. Almost every game menu is translated now, meaning you can navigate the scenarios without impediment...well, except for the actual game text, that is. It's getting fairly tricky trying to debug without understanding the dialogue happening in the game, and doing it by phone translation is tedious, to say the least.

That said, since there were some .mes editing tools provided earlier in the thread, I may take a crack at seeing if I can at least get some of it roughly translated so that it makes debugging the textures easier.

As always, check the imgur album to see images of the redrawn textures.

great progress.
I talked to a guy who does RPG translations, his team has a guy who specializes in compression, he promised to make an archiver for one of the four algorithms

few files have duplicate first string.
set SHIFT-JIS encoding in your text editor for copy-past text to translater

It would be amazing to get this translation finished this year as 2025 is the year the game is set in. It would be a wonderful send off.
