Balatro is a very addictive and fun card roguelike game that was released in 2024 for PC/Consoles. I really hope that the developers would also consider releasing a Dreamcast version! It's in 2D and I'm sure that the Dreamcast could handle the graphic effects and math.

Not seen it but 2d is worst for Dreamcast then 3d or hardware rendering.. Software 2d raster is slower then the saturn lolshenhulahula wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 3:17 pm Balatro is a very addictive and fun card roguelike game that was released in 2024 for PC/Consoles. Have these ever been attempted? I think they could have some potential with nicer refined controls and nice VMU Icons etc.

I’ve been playing through the Cat Quest games and I couldn’t help but feel like they would play really well on dreamcast, gameplay wise and technically, the characters and world seem sprite based and there’s a fixed perspective so you only use the left analogy stick, it reminds me artistically of intrepid Izzy but with a top down rpg world instead of a side scroller. I know it’s unrealistic but it definitely would be cool to see a game in this style on the console

Re: What games would be a good fit to be ported to DC?
Hopefully im being realistic but theres a wikipedia article i found that actually has the list of decompiled or available source code
Heres an interesting one
https://github.com/historicalsource/narc/tree/main/NARC
Just a simple arcade game but a classic, also i have no clue of what the current state of MAME emulation is on dc but last I checked, it still was not fully optimized
Also on the same repsoitory is about 330 other games including nba jam and marathon which both would be fun to play on dreamcast
And since final fight is getting a mega drive port, i wonder if the 3 player version 30th anniversary edition could work on DC?
