but isnt a black boarder a static image? on the AV forums they seem to think so..

its not really an image is it? I'm not all that technical when it comes to hd displays, but I assume that black borders are just lcd crystals that aren't "lit" or something. so if they are inactive, how can they burn in? (of course I'm just speculating here ;) )

anyway, I'll see as time goes by; I've played for hours straight on my hdtv & when I do something else with it (say watch a movie) I've noticed nothing so far

Ok, I did not go into too much detail, but Plasma TV's are even more susceptible to screen burn-in than their LCD and CRT counter-part. My company's service division sees more Plasmas come in for repair or screen burn-in in one month than a whole year for LCD's (amazing since we sold over 29:1 LCD over Plasma).
