I forget when I exactly upgraded to gdemu, but it was about a year before I swapped the PSU. It was extremely hot, but I didn't bother replacing the stock PSU (with a pico PSU and a power brick that I don't remember the exact name of) until that fateful day when it overheated and froze on me. The difference in temperature was significant.

Actually, last night after a mammoth TimeStalkers session the DC was quite hot. Like too much so to the touch. Even the USB-GD board inside.
So I would 100% buy on of those right now even at that price.
Sadly they're out of stock.
Do they restock regularly?
yeah they should. quick email to them and I'd imagine they'd be able to give a timeframe on a restock.

Both me and mrneo240 have had gdemu clones and normal power with no problem for over 1 year now and i leave mine on for hours and hours so not sure why people have problems and we dont..
I have no over heating problems at all normal NTSC dreamcast but it says made in japan if that's any clue
Can you explain why i have no problems and have not done anything or removed any 12 V rail?

Still no reply to my email. I think I might just remove the 12V rail. But I want to be sure it does not disable RGB SCART.
I posted in the other topic on here.
Can anyone actually confirm:
Will a PAL Dreamcast with RGB SCART still function on a CRT with the 12V regulator removed?
Does it disable the SCART signal? Or does it only disable the auto-switcher on the TV, via Pin 8 on the SCART? Because I cut the Pin 8 anyway.

NTSC psu's don't have the same issues as Pal PSU's when it comes to heat and the 12V rail.... as far as I'm aware ( it's been a while since I looked into this so I could be wrong). That could be the reason you've never had an issue Ian.

I use a PAL machine, GDEMU modded and no modification to the standard PSU, all fine. It does get warm (but the Dreamcast always did), but it's been on for hours with no fault.
Others have suggested I'm lucky, but I don't know if the PSU issues are NTSC only or if they affect PAL. They've not affected me, but I might replace my PSU eventually anyway just because any heat will shorten the lifespan of the console even if it isn't excessive.
