Say I wanted to backup my own PSOv2 saves via this image, I would be unable to since PSO has both SYS and GC files in VMI and VMS. They both have the same file names despite being one for the system and one for the guild card, and they cant be renamed otherwise they wont load up. How would we get around this?
I took my own save files from a virtual VMU and exported them with these two custom filenames, seen below. Note that just renaming the VMI/VMS pair will not work, as the VMI itself contains the expected filename.

I haven't tested to see whether it works beyond this, though. I can only confirm I was able to save both files to a new VMU.

I don’t think you totally understood what my question was. My question was how do we differentiate between several PSO character saves if everytime they all just show up in the CDI as PSO_SYS and PSO_GC?

That’s why I said some sort of naming system would be ideal if it could be implemented so there would be no confusion.

Ah, I understand now. Well, as per my screenshots above, you can export the individual save files using custom filenames. You can differentiate them that way for now, though I understand it's less than ideal.

That being said, I have no plans to support customized folders beyond the #A-Z you already see.

Honestly, this isn't a utility I will ever, ever use. It's just something I created for others.
