That's the spirit of the dreampi service! Somehow we did good about branding Dreampi, but everyone seems to think Pcwzrd's kit is the only way.
kamui.cool/ - web content for DC.

Future? BBA is the now for the 2 most popular retail games (QIII and PSO). I see newbies almost daily who haven't even played their newly acquired DC; yet they're chomping at the bit to try out online. (and they don't even know they could sample it free on flycast).

Sorry to be pessimistic, but limited availability will hamper the online population of BBA users... additionally the segmentation between BBA and modem games splinters things further. We really need a breakthrough with a modem replacement solution.

Dreampi pricing isn't much better for the lazy.
Consumers want a ready-to-go solution. Even the capable hobbyists will read a tutorial, and want all their parts in one easy swoop. Look at these eBay "sold" listings for Dreampi: (prices US $ ) The first 3 may be a re-listing, it's hard to tell. Either way, these are inefficient setups with excessive components. Meanwhile vultures try to oversell the modem, too.
I said future of homebrew! All of the recent homebrew games depend on it for online connectivity. ClassiCube, Counter Strike, NuQuake, HL: Deathmatch.

It's the way it is going to be for all future homebrew. If you want to play those games online, you need a BBA.

Yes! Let's make this year the year of the BBA. Bomberman Online and Outtrigger should be the main focus of revival, there the last two BBA games that need to be brought back online. And maybe the most requested dreamcast online games to be brought back online. I know people been begging for Bomberman Online to come back online. Let's do it this year please

I say two because that game will probably not come back online unless we get the source code for the game

It sucks Sega didn't make games forwards compatible with BBA. What I would like to see is a custom board designed to replace both the BBA and Modem with the following features

Modem and BBA Modes
Wifi
SD Cards for trying to load software through the modem
Dreampi compatibility
And possibly a USB or headphone jack to connect microphones and emulate SEGA KARA
