ive seen a few ppl do this. they think it looks better the old way. the truth is it looks washed out and fussy. it is all about perception. you also should be setting a larger distance away from your bigger tv. when setting the proper distance from the screen the VGA box will look sharper and superior to the composite.daniel116 wrote:Yeah I tried everything, it just doesn't work well with big screen TV's
so i bought a vga box

I got a 32" samsung hdtv (series 5) & I sit 2 to 2,5 meters from it, & I must say I'll never go back from vga to rf/scart. everything is just so crisp, & the colours are so much more radiant too imo

Re: so i bought a vga box
I'm pretty sure that any LCD or Plasma over about 30" would have a VGA port these days, they are still more widespread than DVI for instance, I have a 37" 1080p LCD by LG and it has a VGA port so I have my Laptop permanently docked via a dell dock and my dc connected via a VGA switch box, its pretty awesome to be honest, and I was quite surprised to find that the old VGA box I dug out (I sold the one I was previously using successfully) actually worked, normally when I tried to use it in the past it just failed. So win all round!!
this is the box I use now:
