I just checked and have 187 :P and they all work very well. The PC community is amazing, if there is a problem someone will fix it. I can't speak for Dirt 2 as I've never played it but there has to be a fix somewhere given all the tools available to a PC gamer. And if there is no fixing it then boycott the dev and do as much as possible to spread the word that they fucked you because capitalism only works if you do :D . When I get terrible, rude service while I'm trying to pay someone money they get fired.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit as well btw. The only complaint I have with Steam is they are really fucking weird about patching games and this could be your problem. Some games get patches weeks or months later than they do if they are store bought and some games just stop getting patched all-together so check and see if there is a patch available on the site and if there is they might have a Steam specific version.

Neohound wrote:I agree that the generation of consoles that included the Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube and Xbox is quite a tough act to follow but there are some good games this gen (pretty much every generation has some games that stand out). I do want a life outside and after the Dreamcast............

I haven't really involved myself in this generation's bandwagon and it's taken me a while to build up a collection but, with some advice from people here and elsewhere, I am pretty pleased with the quality of the games I've played and purchased so far.

I'm not saying all of these are AAA classic titles, and I'm no expert (just tapped the surface), but they are certainly a level up from the average:

Deadly Premonition (I agree - top game)
Silent Hill Homecoming
Rockstar Table Tennis
Test Drive Unlimited
Dirt
Eternal Sonata
Prey
L.A. Noire
Rayman Origins
Tales Of Vesperia
Uncharted series
Tomb Raider Underworld
Skyward Sword
Blue Dragon
Child Of Eden
El Shaddai
Dead Space 1 & 2
Mass Effect series
Mirrors Edge (elmagicochrisg, I bought this for £1.99 the other day ! I'm taking your word it's ok lol)

Are any of them as good as Shenmue 1 & 2 ? No ! Is the Dreamcast still my number one ? Yes !

But why keep yourself blinkered to the rest of the world's talent just because you fancy one person above all ?
Couldn't have said it any better myself brother, and I too enjoy Test Drive Unlimited 2, Dirt, L.A. Noire and anticipate the amazingly looking Prey 2.

Nowadays I am playing Battlefield 3, Rage, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV Episodes from Liberty City, Skyrim and a bit of Mafia 2 and Forza 4 all on 360, God I love how close the controllers are to the Dreamcast.

Triggers FTW!

i looked around for days to find and fix for the save issue that seems to be the most common one and have not found any help. It seems to be a problem with GFWL running on an X64 system. Windows 7 seems to give less problems but i'll be damned if i'm gonna spend money for a new operating system that the game still might not work on.

I think another really good current generation game out there is Singularity, that was one of the most amazing FPS experiences I've had in the past 5 years, truly phenomenal game

a truly beautiful and awe inspiring experience, the graphics were awesome, the mechanics phenomenal and the story was excellent. Only Bioshock can compete with it imho. I am looking forward to Bioshock Infinite or whatever its now called

Did anyone check out Metro 2033? I thought that was one of the best single player experiences in years. The game had a survival-horror feel with how limited the ammo was and they actually had a mode which I've yet to check out that makes ammo almost impossible to find but the damage is highly increased making conserving ammo and focusing your shots highly important.

I played Metro 2033 in full graphics on my PC before my ATI 3870x2 from 2008 died. It was an absolutely beautiful game in DirectX 10.

I am a HUGE fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, and the creators of that game made Metro.

I would like to see if I can get the sequel for 360, Last Light looks AMAZING!

If you are a fan of Metro, or Fallout 3, or Borderlands, or RAGE or any other large open world post apocalyptic FPS/RPG hybrids, I suggest you get Stalker the complete collection on PC. I actually love that series as much as I do Shenmue, it is that immersive, and the atmosphere blows anything else out of the water.

It takes place in Chernobyl in 2012 after another reactor blows.

Any PC from the past 5 years should run it, it came out in 2007 but can be scaled back to DX7 if you don't have DX9.

*Just make sure you have a good processor for Stalker!!! Gfx card doesn't matter one bit*

I LOVE STALKER. Call of Pripyat is up there with Shenmue on my list as well and with the right mods, a dark room, and a quiet weekend that game will suck you in with the best atmosphere ever created in a game. I had no clue it was the same people who worked on both :o . I know they were planning on porting the games to 360 but the game uses a lot of keys and probably wouldn't translate well to the controller. I know they are working on a sequel as well but I hope its PC exclusive since the game had a distinct PC flair that I haven't seen in a while.

By the way, did you know the setting is actually damn near perfect to Chernobyl? They took tons of pictures and worked them into the engine so if you ever look at pictures of Chernobyl you will scream HOLY SHIT I'VE BEEN THERE and that is just another reason S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is so amazing :D

Yeah that's why I love the game so much, it really puts you in the real zone. It is so detailed it isn't funny.

I needed over 1gb of ram to even get the game to start, so I doubt they got very far if they were talking about porting the original.

For PC gamers, I always tell they to go for Stalker over Fallout 3, ammo is scarce and it really makes you work for each bullet you find. Kind of like that feeling you get in Resident Evil, when you are down to 15 pistol rounds and there are 8 zombies around you. Better aim for the heads! :)

Fallout was fun, but felt more arcade. Stalker has pretty realistic weapon/dynamics, something I am a huge fan of.
