What's this? "ROM Cartridges, Optical Discs for Recording,Playing,Displaying Television Programs & Media,Motion Picture Films. Recordable Video Discs."

So wait, SEGA is also planning its own media format? In the form of Media Flash Cards & SEGA's OWN brand DVD media?

Hmm, so there IS more than meets the eye to this "ORBI".

Looks like Blu-Ray has a new contender, look out Sony! :D

Alternately (and more reasonably), UFO Catchers have a screen in them that plays video. It doesn't say ROM cartridges for playing games. It says "ROM Cartridges, Optical Discs for Recording,Playing,Displaying Television Programs & Media,Motion Picture Films. Recordable Video Discs."

I highly doubt that..all the major media outlets (movie studios speifically) have gone blu ray and until some other major format is released (meaning cost effective upgrade) trying to launch a new format now is money in the toilet...hell blu ray isn't even doing amazing in comparison to dvd and the digital streamig market is continuing to expand so I say no...sony doesn't need to look out for a new format...they need to drop the costs of they're current format and expand their digital services but they won't need to worry with a new format for a few years...
