I would like to point out, that not only quake III arena is affected but quakeworld, quake 2 , rtwc and enemy territory aswell. No words on quake 4 (Quake wars and other are hosted on demonware.) monster.idsoftware.com is completly dead
The quake engine is target of a distributed denial of service attack for quit a while now exploiting call of duty servers. However this is yust a guess that they turned against id software games aswell and they pull the plug. Or internal drama is going on who knows 'ttimo leaving idgames? :/'
