I think I would've loved that title. I love the Shinobi games and also Alex Kidd in Shinobi World or the MS version of Ninja Gaiden. I think it could indeed have been an awesome game.
Dreamcastnews wrote:On a side note, what ever happened to Alice Dreams & Drill? Did neither get passed the demo stage?
I don't know. Ain't Alice Dreams a french project? If so, you should know

Drill got canceled and the developer got hired by Nintendo IIRC...
The demo is sweet though. Played through it... ^^

Yeah, Little Ninja did look like something special, I think I may fire an email to YW and see if they're still hot to trot on it.
Alice Dreams is worth a look to anyone who hasn't played the trial version, it was an adventure game/platformsr which for DC, is rare haha! I just remembered they were working on a game called Dynamite Dreams too that slipped off the radar last year.... Damn.
I still think the Redux guys should consider a name change, though. -_-

Ah, no chance of that one ever happening then

pity, that in my opinion was the nicest looking shooter for DC.

Agreed. At least as far as homebrew goes...
Sturmwind looks like it's going to be awesome too though...

I beta tested Sturmwind, it's very, very impressive indeed.

Yeah. Game is very good, I'm scoring it on 9/10 - of course I played only preview version. Can't wait!

I hadn't realised that Hypertension got cancelled

When did that happen ? Can't remember anyone posting the news here. The last thing I remember about the project was the possibility of getting a publisher for the game. Things looked good, so if it really has been scrapped that's quite disappointing.

Hypertension has pretty much become Scourge, Isotope didn't continue with Hypertension due to the assets being from the Blood series of games so they couldn't release the title commercially.
Scourge is being handled by GOAT and the game engine has been tweak and updated, originally they were to release their game on Dreamcast, N64, Jaguar, 32X etc.... But I think GOAT wanted to concentrate on just the DC version; which, is a good thing.
Both Scourge and TAHI have the potential to change the way the Dreamcast scene views independent projects in my opinion.
I love the fact that Gunlord, Sturmwind & Redux are out this year but I reckon the later should come out in 2013 really, so we can keep the trend of at least one game a year...

Oh, so it hasn't really been cancelled as such, that's good to know. I agree that Tahi and Scourge are important developments. I like to see 3d adventure games, whether 1st or 3rd person, and for the Dreamcast's future, it's important to have other genres aside from the 2d shmups that are so prevalent on the system. Let's hope there aren't too many more hiccups in the making of both games.
