I always liked VH better than SF3, the grid may be smaller at times, but I like the pace & story more

I prefer RTT, but TBT is great too so everything you come up with is very welcomedYijral wrote:Maybe someday but for now it's turn based.

Re: Online homebrew games?
Hey guys sorry for not replying in a couple of days PC died on me and I have been trying to fix it. Anyway enough of my life stories, it's the game you wanna hear about.
This game is more of a War Sim than fire emblem styled games as I feel my story telling isn't up too scratch to write a video game yet, however maybe one day I'll be able to have the skill and knowledge to wrote an interesting story line.
This game will be fully 3D and is set in the medieval time period. I will be using my own custom file type and custom made 3D model inporter for this and I should have some examples of the models and it running on a retail SEGA Dreamcast soon.
Earlier in this forum post, I talked about how the game will make you think differently compared to other Turn based games like Advanced wars as the movement system is hex based movement similar to Civ 5 and there is only 3 style of troops you can send out. Archer, Mage and Swordsman and to make things balanced I have done the same thing Gamefreak done with the Pokemon starters, fire beats grass, grass beats water and water beats fire. However in it's core gameplay it will still play as a turn based tactics game.
The online will have it's own match maker system which will run 24/7 so you can always find a match. So far I'm aiming to use the Modem so everyone can join and play online so the servers can hopefully be busy, BBA support might happen, depending on some factors.
If there is any questions you'd like to ask, please don't feel shy. I'd love to answer them.

Re: Online homebrew games?
Thank you for your detailed info. I'm very curious about the first tech demo running on a retail Dreamcast. Will it be possible to settle a (new) town?
Please take a look at SEGA-DC.de. We will support you too!

Of cause, this is a fantastic idea and we need to show you how strong the dreamcast community is!
Is it possible to create a new village after I set up a strong army and discovered a perfect place for it?
