If it gets a physical PS4 release, I'll get that too. I'd pledged to Sony I'd buy a PS4 if they made it happen, so...

According to Suzuki, Sony was only able to get a digital license from SEGA. It's PSN only.

Only the PC version will get a physical release.

Boo.

Maybe I'll get the PS4 digital copy instead (I don't think I need to decide until it gets delivered, which is slated for December of 2017 anyway).

Suzuki and Ys Net are being VERY generous with that projection. Its highly unlikely the game will be ready in just 2 and half years. A realistic projection is Spring 2018.

Maybe the PSN beta will be playable, but I doubt that.

Re: EternalHope: I'm very very aware that the game will likely miss December of 2017, but at least they didn't do something crazy like other Kickstarters and promise a game in 6 months.

Suzuki's AMA on Reddit last Friday exposed the truth.(I followed it live) and has come back and bit Sony.

Sony mislead people into believing they were fully funding the game and had scored exclusive rights to it for PS4. Turns out, SEGA is more than involved then people think. They're pulling the strings helping Suzuki and through Sega Games,Ltd allowed Ys Net to license the game project.

Sony is only making sure its on PSN and will only fund that part.

Suzuki is open to bringing it to Xbox Live, or Mac. But Xbox fans and other backers have to show interest if they want to play it too.

Suzuki and Ys Net project $5 million once the KS campaign is over.

Considering it's going to be on PS4, it must be using OpenGL instead of Direct3D, so there's no technical reason why it couldn't be available on Windows, OSX, and Linux.
